Marc Webb’s Spider-Man reboot has lined up an intriguing pair of character actors to play the villains — Rhys Ifans will inhabit the Lizard, while In Treatment standout Irrfan Khan has a mysterious role that is still the subject of speculation — but one of them required a hard sell to join. “I didn’t want to be part of this violent American fantasy,” Khan told the Indian Express. “But both my sons were excited and kept insisting that I take it up.” Still, Khan had two stipulations for Webb: He didn’t want to wear a mask or transform into a villainous creature.
