J.J. Abrams Finds a Female Lead for His CBS Pilot

J.J. Abrams has found the female lead for his new CBS drama Person of Interest. Vulture can exclusively report that Taraji P. Henson, most recently seen in Tyler Perry movies I Can Do Bad All by Myself and The Family That Preys (and an Oscar nominee for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), has been cast as a female detective named Carter on the series, joining the previously confirmed Michael Emerson on the show. Person tells the story of an ex-CIA agent who is recruited by a crazy billionaire to help fight crime in New York City. We’re assuming Henson’s Carter will team up with the as-yet uncast ex-CIA agent. Henson’s last regular TV gigs were on ABC’s Eli Stone and Boston Legal; she first gained notice letting the world know It’s Hard Out There for a Pimp in Hustle & Flow.
