Yes, promotional forces are at work in the video for “Give Me All Your Luvin,” which incorporates a whole pyramid of football players and two very famous cheerleaders for no real reason except that football will be the sport played at this weekend’s activities. But because Madonna is Madonna, there is still some attempted weirdness tucked into the corners of this video — like, say, the babydoll nursing, or the cracked-out, triple-Marilyns dream sequence. At one point, the football players start taking bullets for Madonna, because that is the natural order of things: Madonna > sports, and everything else. The song remains as mind-numbingly catchy as it was when it first leaked, though now Nicki gets a chance to shred (for 10 seconds), and M.I.A. manages to work a gunshot into yet another song. And let’s just say it: Madonna still looks crazy bonkers good. Okay, you have two days to learn all the words before the halftime show. Get cracking!
