Lily Allen Leaves Music for Fashion — to Open a Shop

The rumors are apparently true: Lily Allen is leaving music. The pop star announced that she has decided to pursue a career in fashion. But before you get your knickers in a twist, she isn’t going to design. The heavens have spared us yet another celeb line (praise be!). Instead, she’s launching a vintage project called “Lucy in Disguise” with her sister, Sarah Owen.

The project will launch at the Vintage at Goodwood festival (vintage is huge in England, it seems) in August before moving to a permanent home. Goodwood, set on the Goodwood Estate in West Sussex, will play host to many vintage stalls, dealers, and more. The goal is to re-create “a unique ‘retro’ atmosphere from the 1940s through to the 80s,” according to the Telegraph.

Fashion, of course, is not a big leap for Lily, who has been front-row at shows and been shot for Chanel. “To me, the idea of music and fashion being separate is just not possible — one can’t exist without the other,” she told Style.com. “Look back to the Sex Pistols and Vivienne Westwood. They’ve always had music, fashion, and design all mixed together.” Well, let’s just hope Courtney Love stays away from her shop.
