Danish Label Nümph Arrives Stateside Right in Time for Summer

The vibrant graphic prints and modified silhouettes of Danish label Nümph are actually the collective vision of seven women, ranging from experienced fashion designers to marketing managers and graphic designers. After working separately for various fashion brands in their native Denmark, the women joined forces to launch the Nümph label five years ago. The collection earned raves at Copenhagen Fashion Week and was scooped up by stores throughout Denmark and Norway. This spring, the line lands in the U.S. for the first time, stocked at internationally minded boutiques Babel Fair, Pixie Market, and Pop.

With seven collaborators at the helm, the label is particularly prolific, turning out nearly a hundred styles every season (and six full collections per year in Denmark). The spring offering is bold but eminently wearable — full of asymmetrical dresses; slouchy, sleeveless knits; and painterly graphic prints — while the fall collection will bring layerable loose-knit sweaters, demure pencil skirts, and office-appropriate silk dresses. And though the inventive silhouettes and splashy patterns are reason enough to seek out the brand, the prices are its real selling point: Summer dresses hover comfortably below $100, while winter knits rarely top $200.
