ballsy state senators

State Senator Just Looked at Porn for a Couple of Seconds During Abortion Debate

A few months ago, Connecticut legislators were caught playing solitaire and checking out ESPN on their laptops during a budget debate. Last week, Mike Bennett, a Republican state senator down in Florida, was captured on video doing something a bit more embarrassing: looking at photos of naked breasts during a debate on an abortion bill. Bennett checked out said breasts for a minimum of three seconds (and possibly more before the cameras started rolling) before clicking away and watching a video of a wet dog shaking off water for God knows what reason. What say you, Mike Bennett?

Bennett defended his actions, telling Sunshine State News it was an email sent to him by a woman “who happens to be a former court administrator.”

I was just sitting there, bored as they were debating the abortion bill,” Bennett said.

So, to recap, looking at the photos was okay because:
1. It was sent to him by a “former court administrator” who was a woman. (Bet his wife is thrilled about that.)
2. He was bored because abortion rights are really boring.
3. He clicked away from it immediately [in order to watch a video of a dog shaking itself dry].

Look, we understand the value of topless photos. All too well. And we suppose it’s possible that Bennett did view it only briefly and unsuspectingly. But what continues to vex us is that dog video. We just can’t conceive of any situation in which somebody would either decide to share, or willingly view, a mundane clip of a dog shaking water off of itself. We need to know why that dog video exists. WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THAT DOG VIDEO?
