Somehow a passerby managed to snap this crazy video of a cab purportedly burning on a side street off of Second Avenue last night. Firemen surrounded the cab as it burned and appeared to be standing close to it even as it exploded violently (which, amazingly, is caught on this clip). And this wasn’t the only place this happened during the snowstorm last night: Another cab exploded up on Madison Avenue, between 79th and 80th — right around the corner from Mayor Bloomberg’s house. There have been no reports of anyone getting hurt in the explosions, thankfully. Remember that next time you almost get splattered with slush from a passing car and you want to yell at the driver because it was “too close a call.”
