Minnesota, You Have Compromised Your Access to Thin Mints

Girl Scouts say they won’t sell Girl Scout cookies this year, because they’re angry about the Girl Scouts’ plans to sell several local scout camps. Ahead of this Saturday’s Girl Scout cookie sale kickoff, the 45,000 troops in Minnesota and the Wisconsin River Valleys say they may not sell. “It seems that this may be the only way to get their attention,” said Kim Zaiman, a local troop leader who is fighting the camp shutdowns. “It’s extremely difficult as my daughter and the girls in my troop love to sell cookies.” Girl Scouts is attempting to unload the camps in order to slim their real-estate portfolio. They say fewer scouts are using the camps and the sale of the properties netted them around $600,000.
