NYPD Officer Anthony Bologna Will Lose Some Vacation Time

On Tuesday, the NYPD said that Anthony “Tony Baloney” Bologna will be docked ten vacation days as punishment for pepper-spraying two peaceful Occupy Wall Street protesters. Though the police initially deemed Bologna’s actions appropriate and said he used the pepper spray “sparingly,” they’ve now given him three days to either accept the penalty or file an appeal, which could result in more severe consequences. Bologna is reportedly “disappointed” with the decision — a pretty understated reaction to being forced to give up vacation time. Guess he didn’t have any big plans!

Meanwhile, one of his victims, 24-year-old schoolteacher Kaylee Dedrick, continues to push Manhattan D.A. Cyrus Vance Jr. to pursue criminal charges against the cop. After the NYPD announced its disciplinary plan, Dedrick’s lawyer, Ron Kuby, suggested that it was nothing more than a slap on the wrist:

That’s sure not what it looks like, either. (Unless you have an extremely bad allergy to cayenne, or something.)
