The Learning Channel’s new show All-American Muslim is propaganda clearly designed to counter legitimate and present-day concerns about many Muslims who are advancing Islamic fundamentalism and Sharia law.”

Lowe’s pulled its advertising campaign from TLC’s All-American Muslim following a successful petition organized by a group called Florida Family Association.

Amazingly, Lowe’s was convinced by the FFA’s argument (or downright scared by the numbers and/or rhetoric of the petitioners). They released a statement explaining the decision.

Individuals and groups have strong political and societal views on this topic, and this program became a lightning rod for many of those views. As a result we did pull our advertising on this program. We believe it is best to respectfully defer to communities, individuals and groups to discuss and consider such issues of importance.”

Senator Ted Lieu called Lowe’s decision “un-American” and “naked religious bigotry,” and told the Associated Press that he would consider legislative action if Lowe’s doesn’t apologize and reinstate the ads.
