It worked with Saturday Night Live two years ago, so why not everything else? Betty White’s deeply loyal fanbase has started an online petition calling for the 90-year-0ld Golden Girls star to introduce President Obama’s Thursday night speech. So far, 2,500 people have signed the thing, which reads, “Governor Romney can have Clint Eastwood and his improvisational skills because President Obama has the one and only Betty White!” Meanwhile, 20,000 people have liked the cause on Facebook. Sure, it seems unlikely to work, but it wouldn’t be the first time Obama tried to use White’s popularity for his own purposes.
