[FishbowlNY/Mediabistro, TVNewser]
• Jan Wenner failed to lure Ed Felsenthal away from the Journal (and Portfolio) and had to settle for Brad Wieners as new editor at Men’s Journal. Wieners has been acting editor since August, when James Kaminsky decamped for Maxim. [NYP]
• Poynter Institute: As a journalist, it’s your “duty” to read the print newspaper. Unclear how that affects bloggers. [Poynter]

• Capping a week of bad news on Wall Street, Chase announced 10 percent cuts across all fixed-income divisions. [Bloomberg]
• David Stockman says he can’t be guilty of fraud as CEO of Collins & Aikman because Reagan made him the youngest cabinet member of the twentieth century. You mean that wasn’t a fraud? [NYP]
• Just before the credit crunch, Merrill claimed its chief strength was managing risk. Ha! [NYT]

• Poughkeepsie judge Edmund Caplicki got censured for telling a defense lawyer in open court that she had a “nice butt.” [NYDN]
• Skadden puts the “big” in big law, surpassing the 2,000 mark for the first time in firm history. [Above the Law]
• Are other NYC firms matching Sullivan and Cromwell’s associate bonuses? [Above the Law]

FASHION
• Crime against fashion! The policeman who spied on Jimmy Choo’s Tamara Mellon during her divorce has been thrown in the slammer for 27 months. [British Vogue]
• Daphne Guinness is taking that great step from being a muse and clotheshorse to becoming a designer. Hooray! She’s making T-shirts. [WWD]
• Mad hatter Stephen Jones is now becoming a perfumer. Hey, if Britney can do it… [Fashion Week Daily]
