A week after Jared Loughner pleaded guilty to killing six people and wounding thirteen in the 2011 Arizona shooting, there’s a happier update to the story: A year and a half later, Gabrielle Giffords has returned to Tucson. She had been receiving intensive treatment in Houston, but her husband Mark Kelly said that she’s progressed to the point that she can do therapy in Arizona. “You know, it’s time for her to get back to as much of a normal life as possible after this type of catastrophic injury,” Kelly said. “Obviously, a big thing for her is to come home.”
