With the end of Michael Bloomberg’s reign just days away, Upper East Side artist Ismena Halkiewicz has posted her 2008 “personal interpretation” of the outgoing mayor to Craigslist. $1200 (price negotiable) gets you a 40-by-30-inch oil panting of a somewhat-younger-looking Bloomberg wearing a suit that is either reflecting the light of hundreds of tiny lasers or made of fashion-forward multicolored wool, his outstretched hand providing a perch for a small owl. According to Halkiewicz’s description, the bird is meant to represent “wisdom and the ability to see things that are hidden, stealth, swiftness, darkness, freedom,” which just happens to be the mantra Bloomberg recites to himself in front of the mirror every morning.
