GQ Is the First Victim of Condé Nast Budget Cuts

Big layoffs hit GQ Friday, as the magazine cut seven from its editorial and business staff as part of budget cuts across Condé Nast’s titles, reports WWD. The managing editor, a senior online editor, and the business manager were among the positions cut. The men’s magazine seems to be first in line for cuts that are widely expected to hit more titles in the Condé Nast family in the days and weeks ahead, as the company tightens its belt as it revamps its revenue strategy. WWD’s report lists Glamour staffers as the next to face layoffs, but the publisher will not make any announcements until after the magazine’s annual Women of the Year Awards, which take place next week.

An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that GQ’s digital director was among the layoffs. We’ve updated the piece, and apologize for the error.
