So, it turns out that the Mets and Jason Bay had agreed to their deal over the weekend, because Omar Minaya left for a vacation in Costa Rica on Sunday. (Nice gig if you can get it.) That makes the reports that the Mets signed Bengie Molina late last night specious and untrue, which is a positive thing, because Jason Bay is good and Bengie Molina isn’t.
