You know how the bad people who only care about money were considering expanding the NCAA tournament to 96 teams? Well, that’s like really, totally happening now. And even worse, it might end up putting the tournament on a channel other than CBS. (The tournament is the one thing CBS has consistently gotten right, other than maybe Andy Rooney.) We do think, however, that as wrongheaded a move as this is, the backlash will not be as intense as the hatred for the BCS, if just because the BCS is about subtracting necessary games and this change is about adding unnecessary ones. (We’ll take the latter every time on that one.) But it’s definitely happening. You hate it, we hate it, everybody hates it. None of that matters.
