Don’t Give Up On the NCAA Tournament Just Yet

Yes, we know you’re still reeling from Syracuse’s and Cornell’s losses in the Sweet Sixteen, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still have some fun rooting against Duke. The tourney continues tonight, and the odds are excellent that you’ll be wrapping up dinner and heading to the bar right around the time the Duke-Purdue game is nearing halftime: Some playful sneering at Mike Krzyzewski is better than an after-dinner mint. The early games feature Evan Turner and Ohio State against Tennessee, and Baylor versus St. Mary’s; the other late game is Michigan State against the bracket busters that are Northern Iowa. Speaking of brackets: As of this moment, the leader in our Sports Section bracket pool is an entry called “Bongs,” from an entrant named “Mr. Brooksington,” who we assume is a cat. The pool winner gets a free post on this site; “Bongs” has Ohio State in the Final Four, so you know whom to root for tonight. We’re pretty excited to have a post on this site with the byline “Bongs” or “Mr. Brooksington,” all told.
