Last night, after taking the reins as the No. 1 team in the country, the Syracuse Orange hosted a demoralized St. John’s team in the last game at the Carrier Dome during this most unexpectedly delightful of seasons. St. John’s never stood a chance, losing 85–66, and clinching their spot in the Big East Tournament as one of the teams who have to play a day earlier than everyone else. Syracuse, however, clinched an outright Big East title. Considering how poor the chances of NYC-area colleges making the NCAA tournament are — and, frankly, considering our own alma mater’s bubble status — The Sports Section has no choice but to jump on the Syracuse bandwagon for the next month. Half the people here have been wearing this around the office already anyway.
