If you enjoyed our epic NYC College Hoops Road Trip over the last college-basketball season, boy are you lucky, because we’re about to kick up a new voyage. Except this time, we’re going to do it outside.
We proudly introduce the 2010 Sports Section Minor League Stadium Crawl, in which we attempt to hit the eight Minor League parks closest to our fine area. It’s a summerlong saga, ranging from Brooklyn to Staten Island to New Jersey to Central Islip. This trip will have a distinct advantage over the college-hoops tour, in that every venue will sell booze.
We’ll be doing rankings and reports on every Minor League venue after each game, and crowning a winner at the end of the summer. Just the idea of lounging under a summer sky in Augusta, New Jersey, is making us misty and sentimental.
Anyway, below is the schedule. We hope you’ll drop by and say “hi” at some of these games, if just to interrupt Joe and Will’s constant fights about Javier Vazquez. We can’t wait.
