So, How Badly Do You Want to Go Watch Tiger Tomorrow?

As it turns out, much of Tiger Woods’s first round, thanks to his late tee time, will be on television tomorrow, but maybe that’s not enough for you. Maybe you’re looking at the weather, seeing the NYC rain scheduled for tomorrow night, and thinking, “You know what? I need some azaleas. I want to go see the Masters in person tomorrow.” How much is it going to run you? Let’s take a look. First off, you can get a nonstop flight to Bush Field in Augusta that leaves LaGuardia at 10 a.m. and lands at 12:28. That’ll cost you $495 one-way. It’s a ten-minute cab ride over to Augusta National, about $15 in Georgia, we’d guess. Then comes your badge for Thursday play: Currently, on StubHub, a badge for one person costs $2,222. (You have to buy two, though let’s ignore that for the purposes of this exercise.) If you go cheap, you can get a Days Inn room for tomorrow night for $200 bucks. So, if you have a sudden, overwhelming urge to get to Augusta National to see the first round, it’s going to cost you about $2,932. And you still have to get yourself back.
