The Carmelo Watch may have just gotten interesting again. ESPN’s Chris Sheridan reports via Twitter: “Source tells me the NY Knicks have a deal available to acquire a No. 1 draft pick in 2011 for use in a C.Anthony trade, if talks revived.” He doesn’t say which players the Knicks would part with in such a trade, or whose first-rounder they’d acquire, or whether the Knicks would be able to assemble a package to Denver’s liking. But their inability to trade a first-round pick until 2014 had previously been a hurdle, and Donnie Walsh had spoken openly about acquiring a first-round pick last week, after the Nuggets began to shop Anthony.
