Syracuse Will Play in the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium

The Orange have accepted an invitation to play in the December 30 Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium against a yet-to-be-announced team from the Big 12. Under coach Doug Marrone, Syracuse, at 7–5, is bowl eligible this year for the first time since 2004. (Suddenly relevant fun fact about Marrone, via a Yankees press release: His grandfather worked as an usher at the original Yankee Stadium for twenty years.) Speaking of the old stadium, Syracuse played there six times between 1923 and 1964, compiling a 5–1 record in those games.
