So far in Big East play, St. John’s has won on the road at West Virginia and Providence, defeated No. 13 Georgetown at the Garden, and lost at No. 15 Notre Dame. Not bad! But tonight comes their biggest test yet: fourth-ranked, undefeated Syracuse, the team this blog may or may not have jinxed by covering it during tournament season last year. (Really, who’s to say?) The Johnnies, by the way, received four points in Monday’s AP poll — Orange fans are surely laughing at that, but hey, it’s progress — good for a tie for the 39th spot in the rankings. The Red Storm’s current senior class is 0–3 against Syracuse.
