The Mets have signed pitchers Chris Capuano and Taylor Buchholz to one-year contracts. The lefty Capuano won eighteen games in 2005 and made the All-Star team the following year, but missed the entire 2008 and 2009 seasons because of Tommy John surgery, his second such procedure. (He appeared in 24 games last year for Milwaukee, including nine starts, and could compete for the final spot in the rotation.) Buchholz, meanwhile, made nine appearances out of the bullpen for Toronto and Colorado last year after missing the 2009 season because of elbow surgery. [NYDN, NYP]
