Let the Francisco Liriano Speculation Begin!

From now until the Yankees have a rotation they’re reasonably comfortable with (note: this could be awhile), anytime a starting pitcher with a pulse is understood to be available, you can expect chatter about the Yankees’ potential interest in a trade, and about what it would cost to make it happen. And so, with the Minneapolis Star-Tribune suggesting that the Twins are unwilling to sign Francisco Liriano to a long-term contract, and thus might be open to trading him, look forward to hearing Liriano’s name — and the accompanying concerns about his health — every time Ivan Nova is knocked out in the third inning or, say, Freddy Garcia loses two straight games. (You know, assuming Minnesota doesn’t deal him to a team that hasn’t tortured them in the playoffs first.)
