Three Rangers Named NHL All-Stars

We already knew John Tortorella would be coaching in the NHL All-Star Game, thanks to the Rangers’ excellent first-half record. And now we know which of his players will be joining him: Henrik Lundqvist, Marian Gaborik, and Dan Girardi were among those named NHL All-Stars today. Something to look forward to: Tortorella potentially having to coach against one or more of his players, because of the game’s fantasy-draft format. However, unless something changes, we’ll be deprived of one other All-Star Weekend moment we were kind of psyched for: The speedy Carl Hagelin wasn’t among the rookies selected to take part in the annual skills competition, so there goes seeing how well he’d do in the fastest-skater event.
