First, check out the kaleidoscopic light show in the main concourse. Then, sneak over to Vanderbilt Hall for the station’s 12,000-square-foot impromptu mall.

Not only does the scene look like a Currier and Ives print, but you can also pick up enough cold-weather gear to look like you’ve just walked out of the artwork.

For one night at least, Upper West Side merchants turn a pocket of Manhattan into Small Town, USA, with music and (for a nominal fee) food tastings.
