Euphonically Named Socialites Dig the Henry Street Settlement

We’re not saying they’re open to the public, and we’re not saying you’ll necessarily be able to get in if you show up. But here are the big-name parties on tap for tonight. Expect to hear about them in the next few days’ gossip columns.

• Henry Street Settlement’s Glitter Ball. Puck Building, 295 Lafayette St., at Houston St., 7 p.m. Promised guests include Tinsley Mortimer, Damon Dash, and a slew of euphonically named socialites like Valesca Guerrand Hermes, Massimo and Chiara Ferragamo, and Adrienne and Gigi Vittadini. (Vee-ta-DEE-nee, if you’re curious.) The invite promises a “live auction” but doesn’t say of what; the Henry Street charity is on the Lower East Side, but we somehow doubt it’s a kilo of heroin.

FFANY Shoes on Sale breast-cancer benefit. Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, Park Ave. at 49th St., 6:30 p.m. Mega-fashiony scheduled-guest list includes Christian Louboutin, Diane Von Furstenberg, Kenneth Cole, Jimmy Choo, Bebe Neuwirth, Carmen Electra, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Stephon Marbury, and footwear-industry titan Mario Cuomo.
American Ballet Theatre Opening Gala. New York City Center, W. 55th St., between Sixth Ave. and Seventh Ave., 6:30 p.m. One of the co-chairs of the ABT is Muffie Potter Aston. We frequently wonder how aware Muffie Potter Aston is about being the complete nominal and physical manifestation of a lifestyle that most Americans view with such mirth and contempt, but we doubt that scheduled attendees Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg, Helen Mirren, or Taylor Hackford will ask her about it tonight.
