Tonight’s boldfaced parties:
• Spy: The Funny Years book party. The Puck Building, 295 Lafayette St., nr. Houston St., 6:30 p.m. Harvey and Bob Weinstein host for Spy founders Graydon Carter and Kurt Andersen. Kurt Andersen writes for New York, which confounds our instinct to make a smart-ass joke about this event … an impulse, which, if the press invite for this event is to be believed, is inspired in part by the legacy of Spy magazine. Damn you, clever Kurt Andersen! Anyway, every media reporter you’ve ever met will be there, outnumbering the other guests.
• L’Oreal Legends Gala for ovarian-cancer research. American Museum of Natural History, Central Park W., nr. 79th St., 6:30 p.m. Penélope Cruz, Beyoncé, and Diane Keaton are expected to be among the ovary-possessors in attendance.
• RxArt Ball and silent auction. Splashlight Studios, 529-535 W. 35th St., nr. Tenth Ave., 7 p.m. Kevin Kline, Phoebe Cates, Cynthia Rowley, Marc Ecko scheduled to attend. RxArt works to “provide exposure to the finest contemporary art in patient, procedure and examination rooms of healthcare facilities.” An honorable aim, but count us a little skeptical, as we’d imagine people old enough to spend the most time in health-care facilities are also the people most likely to consider contemporary art just a bunch of damn squiggly lines.
