Les Conards Ne Savent Pas

La Vie En Rose premiere. Paris Theatre, 4 W. 58th St., nr. Fifth Ave., 6:45 p.m. The Edith Piaf biopic’s American debut is sponsored by Chanel; expected guests include director Olivier Dahan and star Marion Cotillard as well as Salman Rushdie and Padma Lakshimi, Amanda Hearst, Mira Nair, and Mirabelle Marden. Amusingly, La Vie En Rose is the American title for the film, which was originally called La Mome. France: so sophisticated that its dumbed-down-for-the-American-market titles are still in French.

Sundance Institute at BAM opening night. BAM, 30 Lafayette Ave., nr. Ashland Pl., Fort Greene, Brooklyn, 7 p.m. Expected: Robert Redford, Sally Field, Wes Anderson, Claire Danes. Garth Jennings’s film Son of Rambow, whose plot does involve the more conventionally spelled Rambo, will be screened in honor of Claire Danes. She is the world’s No. 1 Rambo fan.

FiFi awards. Winter Garden, 3 World Financial Center, Vesey St., nr. West Side Hwy., 7:15 p.m. Scheduled to attend: Paula Abdul, Carol Alt, Carolina Herrera, Zac Posen. The “FiFi” awards celebrate the year in fragrances. Last year’s winner in the “Popular Appeal” category was “Antonio Banderas for Women.”
