The Waterfalls Are Upon Us

Isn’t it pretty? Above is one of four giant waterfall sculptures scattered across the city’s waterways. You’ve been hearing about them for months (“They’re the new Gates!” “They’re going to bring $55 million in tourist dollars!”), now it’s time to go see them. They started spouting today. The Circle Line is offering tours, for 30 and 60 minutes at $10 and $25 respectively. You can also find more information at nycwaterfalls.org. Or you can read Michael Joseph Gross’s interview in New York with sculptor Olafur Eliasson.
