Controversial New York City Schools chancellor Joel Klein has been mentioned as a possible secretary of Education in an Obama administration, which is why more than 1,000 locals have signed an online petition imploring Team Obama not to choose him. The petition says he has run the NYC school system “like a ruthless dictatorship,” shutting out parents and teachers, putting the focus on tests, and refusing to cut overcrowding and class size.
