The usually reliable MetsBlog ran a strange post last night, claiming that they’d heard from “a variety of tri-state area newsrooms, including SNY and CNN” that their organizations were following up on an “unsubstantiated rumor” that David Wright was on the plane that landed in the Hudson River yesterday. They updated the post about 45 minutes later with confirmation from the Mets that Wright wasn’t on the plane, but we could have told you that. After all, the rescue was so calm and orderly that we’re pretty sure we’d have spotted Wright out on the wing, signing autographs. [MetsBlog]
