On the same day that our country’s most hated criminal was brought to justice, Iraq’s most beloved criminal was also sent to jail. Journalist Muntader al-Zaidi basically Iraq’s Chesley Sullenberger was sentenced to three years in prison for throwing his shoes at President Bush back in December. Amusingly, before the verdict was read, “all reporters were escorted from the courtroom,” probably because the judge lacks the catlike reflexes of our former president. [NYT]
