Solvency notwithstanding, Goldman Sachs has had a rough time of it lately, image-wise, what with all the attention focused on their relationships with AIG and the New York Fed chair and the general and pervasive sense among the populace that the company is a cult of power-mad tyrants who are hell-bent on taking over the world and probably perform ritual killings in the basement. But a carefully placed item in this morning’s “Page Six” suggests someone is working to combat those stereotypes.
