Besides a nuclear reactor or maybe a jumbo jet (or a jumbo jet full of nukes you get the idea), there are few more dangerous things for random, untrained people to operate than a train full of commuters traveling through residential areas at 80 miles an hour. And yet that exact situation took place last month on the LIRR, for some ungodly reason. Now Nassau County’s D.A. is suggesting reforms so that it never happens again.
