The state of California would make a hefty $490 million over the next three years if it legalized gay marriage, according to expert testimony yesterday at the Proposition 8 trial. Testifying for the defense, two experts said that banning gay marriage doesn’t only hurt those who wish to gay marry, it hurts everyone. This state needs money! Of course, California is facing a $20 billion budget shortfall. So yeah, the money from all those tuxedo rentals would help, but not that much. [WSJ]
