Eliot Spitzer went on The Colbert Report last night, because, as Colbert pointed out, it’s not like he really has to worry about being humiliated these days. As he’s been doing recently, the former governor and famed prostitute enthusiast displayed a willingness to make fun of himself (“Any plans tonight?” Colbert asks at one point. “I’m going straight home,” Spitzer deadpans) and talks lucid smack about the economic dream team of Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner and economic adviser Larry Summers, who have been, in his opinion, “an abject failure.”
