things grandma doesn't tell you

Older People Are Now Sexting Each Other

It was only a matter of time, we suppose. As soon as older people starting learning how to use their cell phones for things other than calls to their adult children, they were bound to send dirty texts to each other. And that’s what has happened, apparently.

Teenagers aren’t the only ones sending racy pictures and text messages over their cell phones. Believe it or not, the AARP says ‘sexting’ is catching on with the 50-and-up crowd.

We will grudgingly believe it, we suppose. So why exactly is this becoming a trend now? The same reason everything has become a trend over the past few years — the economy.

We will grudgingly believe it, we suppose. So why exactly is this becoming a trend now? The same reason everything has become a trend over the past few years — the economy.

At least that’s according to one expert-ish doctor:

I just think it’s wonderful! With the economy the way it is, people are so stressed out, they don’t have money. The new going out is staying in. So you want to build up that crescendo, novelty and excitement, and this is giving them that big buzz,” she said.

What? Did that make sense? Anyway, if you’re older and sexting, there are certain safety precautions you should be taking which are not unlike those for personal firearms.

Dr. Eaker Weil said you want to keep sexting private, especially if you have children in the house. Make sure you delete your messages and don’t leave your phone laying around the house.

Sexts don’t traumatize people. Careless sexters traumatize people.
