Two Major Explosions Rock Afghanistan’s Capital

Two large blasts shook Afghanistan’s capital early Friday morning as several suicide bombers attacked a hotel in the center of Kabul, police said. At least five were wounded in the explosions, which occurred near a number of government buildings and U.N. offices. Police are investigating the incident, the second major attack on Kabul since the beginning of the year. The first took place on January 18 when seven gunman attacked an Afghan shopping center and immobilized the city. [CNN, NYT]
