Massachusetts accountant Harry Markopolos — who was ignored by the SEC when he presented them with evidence in 2000 that Bernie Madoff’s securities firm was a massive Ponzi scheme — appeared on The Daily Show tonight to promote his new book, No One Would Listen. It’s probably not too surprising that a guy who began carrying around a gun and fantasizing about killing Madoff himself comes off as intensely, if quietly, furious, but nevertheless it’s still pretty amusing to watch Stewart prod him.
