The W and the V lines will disappear and over 110 bus routes will be completely eliminated or reduced, as part of sweeping cuts announced by the MTA today, which will result in longer wait times and less alternatives for New York commuters. And this is just the beginning, as the agency is still looking to achieve cost savings of nearly $400 million by year’s end.
“This is just the beginning,” Mayor Bloomberg said. “The next round I would think would be much worse. So save your anger for the next round. Just say thank you that it isn’t any worse with this one.”
The reverse psychology maneuver is cute, Mike, but there’s no way we’re saying “thank you.”
