After Scott Brown sent out a fund-raising plea yesterday in which he warned that MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow was being recruited to run against him in 2012, Maddow felt compelled to set the record straight on her show last night, giving up her chair “for the first and probably last time” to be interviewed by her executive producer, Bill Wolff. Maddow denied that she has any intention to run for office, or that anybody has contacted her about doing so “through any means.” “Why didn’t they just call and ask me if it was true before sending out the fund-raising letter?” a “bewildered” Maddow asked. Because then Brown couldn’t scare conservative Bay Staters into sending him money to make the scary liberal lesbian lady go away, obviously.
