MSNBC’s David Shuster Suspended Indefinitely After Being Caught Cheating With CNN

Last week, the Observer reported that MSNBC daytime anchor David Shuster, whose contract with the channel expires at the end of the year, had filmed a pilot for CNN. This would be kind of like LeBron James secretly practicing with the Knicks, as he does in our dreams every night, right before Heidi Klum asks us to help her pick out swimwear. The Cavaliers wouldn’t appreciate that, just as MSNBC didn’t take kindly to news of Shuster’s dalliance with a rival. Shuster is no stranger to punishment — he was suspended in 2008 for saying Hillary Clinton had “pimped out” Chelsea Clinton, and was reprimanded in January of this year for some tweets about conservative muckraker James O’Keefe — but this betrayal called for more than a slap on the wrist. After being “ripped a new one” by MSNBC president Phil Griffin, Shuster has now been “suspended indefinitely.”
