State Assemblymen Promise to Do Gross Things With Water for Google’s Amusement

To show just how far he’d go to convince Google to select the Greenpoint district he represents as a trial location for its ultra high-speed broadband network, Assemblyman Joe Lentol has vowed to swim in Newtown Creek — what the EPA calls “one of the nation’s most polluted waterways” — if he’s successful. Not to be outdone, Troy assemblyman Ron Canestrari, with some heavy prodding by a reporter, has promised to drink from the Hudson River. If Google was the president of a frat house, it would be very impressed right now.
