Zazi and Other Terrorists Planned to Target Times Square, Grand Central Subway Stations

A fourth man was recently arrested in Pakistan as part of the terrorism plot foiled by federal officials in New York and Colorado, the Daily News reports. The man will be extradited to New York, where he’ll be tried in Brooklyn Federal Court with fellow conspirators Adis Medunjanin and Zarein Ahmedzay. It was the cooperation of lead planner Najibullah Zazi that led officials to the fourth suspect, and that also provided new details of exactly how their attack would have panned out.

Zazi and his two Queens friends allegedly planned to strap explosives to their bodies and split up, heading for the Grand Central and Times Square stations - the two busiest subway stations in New York City.

The plot was scheduled for mid-September, a few days after the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
