Earlier today, while President Obama was practically begging any Republican senators to show some support for immigration reform, Michelle Obama, in a sad juxtaposition, was trying to deal with a second-grader who worries about her illegal-immigrant mom being deported. “My mom … she says that Barack Obama is taking everybody away that doesn’t have papers,” she said, heartwrenchingly. Obama explained that this is exactly why we need to “make sure that people can be here with the right kind of papers.” How come everybody, including second-graders, can grasp this, but not Republicans in Congress?
