Mayor Bloomberg’s propensity for hiring employees to perform duties in both his public and private lives has come under scrutiny again. One of his aides, Allison Jaffin, earns $117,818 working in the mayor’s office, and time-and-a-half for 20 to 30 hours a week of planning Bloomberg’s private events and coordinating them with his public ones. Bloomberg pays Jaffin out of his own pocket for the time she spends doing work for Private Citizen Bloomberg, though, so we’re not sure what the big deal is. [WSJ]
