New Yorkers Know How to Respond to Terror Attacks

We don’t really share James Fallows’s ridicule for the TSA’s security measures (making life a little harder for would-be terrorists is worth the inconvenience of removing your shoes for a minute, if you ask us), but we do agree that New Yorkers* respond to terrorism the right way: with a conspicuous lack of terror. As in, “What’s with all the police over there? They just dismantled a car bomb? Huh. Hope they catch the guy. Okay, let’s go to Cold Stone.” [James Fallows/Atlantic]

*And tourists, because let’s be honest, half the people in Times Square are from out of town.
